Recently I attended an event held on behalf of the Sajai Foundation, which is my "day job." (Do go check us out--we're pretty cool, if I do say so myself!) Lucky for me--and everyone else attending--the event was held at Cafe Lurcat. There is a link between Cafe Lurcat and the Foundation--the executive chef at Lurcat, Adam King, is the son of the Foundation's founder Barb King.
It's a fun place to visit.
Right across the street from Loring Park.
But who cares about the view when there's good food to be eaten? And at Lurcat, that's a serious consideration, because the food is, as a friend of mine would say, mighty fine.
Mini burgers; duck pot stickers with kumquat soy sauce; Honeycrisp apple slaw; and a spicy short-rib lettuce wrap. Regrettably, I didn't get pictures of the duck prosciutto with roasted pears, chevre, and pickled red onion, or the warm sugar-cinnamon doughnuts that were passed for dessert.
Oh my. Seriously? Go to Lurcat and choose either the restaurant (the modestly named "Cafe") or simply eat off the bar menu (and be sure to get the tuna pizza, which is divine), and you will be so very, very happy.
Lurcat, like so many other restaurants these days, tries whenever possible to source locally and organically, but not everyone is making food that tastes this amazing.

I've always wanted to try it...I do have a gift card...
