Usually when I'm on a road trip, I try to avoid eating at the same restaurant twice, simply because I want to experience as much variety as possible. But on last month's trip to the Iron Range, I broke my own rule to have breakfast twice here:
Alden's in Biwabik. It's a cute hometown, main-street cafe, open early for breakfast and through to an early dinner hour. It's diner food, and very well done.
Perfect sunny side up eggs. English toast, which had a texture like an English muffin. Crispy, delectable bacon.
Who wouldn't go back for seconds? I'm just disappointed it didn't work out for me to stop the Friday night fish fry. I suspect there's great yumminess to be had then.
