The question has been raised (by someone I'll kindly let remain anonymous) as to whether or not there's anything geekier about me than the fact that I read about Sylvia Plath. Truth to tell, there is. And I might as well be honest.
I'm a card-carrying member (well, they don't have cards, but if they did, I'd have one and I'd carry it) of the Bronte Society.
Not only that, but I'm waiting breathlessly to find out if my application to join the Jane Austen Society of North America has been accepted. I don't know if they have cards, but if they do, I'll be proud to carry mine.
So there you have it. An extremely high geek factor, which includes the optional variant of "this woman really needs to get a life."
In other news...the "down with Mr. X/Support Crazy Aunt Purl" knit-along seems to have broken the bad spell preventing me from starting anything. I'm almost done with the first block for an afghan which was going to be for me, but given that it has my SIL's favorite colors and SIL just announced this week that she's bought a house, I believe it will be a housewarming gift instead. No problem. As soon as my Malabrigo arrives from Yarn Co-op, that will make a nice afghan for me.
Perhaps I can learn to knit a portrait of Wuthering Heights. Then I can tie all these interests together.
