Tagged by Heather

I've been tagged! I've been tagged!
Ok, it doesn't take much to excite me.

And now, courtesy of Heather:

Take the first 5 novels from your bookshelf....then do the following:

1. Book 1 - take first sentence
2. Book 2 - the last sentence
3. Book 3 - second sentence on page 100
4. Book 4 - next to last sentence on page 150
5. Book 5 - Final sentence of the book.

Make the five sentences into a paragraph. Feel free to cheat and make it a better paragraph. Name the sources and then post.

Here's my paragraph:

On February 11, 1963, the American poet Sylvia Plath, living in London with her two small children, put an end to her life at the age of thirty. Now she rests well at night and her good looks have mostly returned. In movies, men have mistresses who soothe and pet them, who are consoling, passionate and ornamental. You can't let that happen. And I, dear reader, agree.

Book one - Bitter Fame: A Life of Sylvia Plath (Anne Stevenson

Book two - The Complete Stories (Flannery O'Connor)

Book three - The Best American Short Stories 1983 (ed. Anne Tyler)

Book four - Brothel: Mustang Ranch and its Women (Alexa Albert)

Book Five - Woman's Inhumanity to Woman (Phyllis Chesler)

Hmmm. Five books. Five female authors (not by design, it just happened). Rather grim.

Knitting content soon, I promise--and there has been knitting. In the meantime, I tag Deb and Cari. Have fun!

How lame is it to self tag? This is a fun one, though, so I just might do it. Your paragraph came out well -- how much "cheating" did you have to do?

Okay, I'm delighted to play! Mine's up on my blog.

Oh how cool! Very nice selections.
