The title of this post reminds me how, a week or so ago, I was getting ready to get on the treadmill and set my iPod to shuffle. First song up? Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls. I think my iPod is even meaner than my Wii Fit trainer, who's quite a bitch herself. On the other hand, fat bottomed girls do make the rockin' world go round.
Anyway. Back several years, when I first learned to knit (which, shockingly, has been quite a while ago now), I gave DH a box of yarn for Christmas and said, Hey! I'll knit you a sweater!
A gift he has reminded me of every Christmas since. And frequently in between, since I'm often seen knitting things that are not a sweater. My initial excuse was that I was too much of a newbie at the whole knitting thing.
But I finally (four years later!) decided it was time to take up the challenge, and so, I give you:
Pretty damn exciting to look at, isn't it? I'm almost done with the back. It's the Classic Male Cardigan from Sally Melville's Knitting Experience: The Knit Stitch book, knit in Cascade.
The best part? Now, instead of him nagging me, I get to pick this up each evening and say, hey, look, honey! I'm knitting you a sweater!
I have four years' worth to make up for.
Baby got back, indeed.

I'm (still) knitting that same sweater for DH. All I have to do is a few inshes of the right front and the button band. I useda silk linen "tweed" (my mind ha just made the brand name go "ffffft.") so it will be cool enough to wear in Texas.
PS: Our GS cookies are all gone, too.
